That hasn't changed, and it's still the right stop for a fast errand between a workout and dinner.
What's changed sits just across from Plaza de la Fuente, next to the Clubhouse. TASIS Dorado sits inside the community, right at that main entrance alongside Sabanera Farm and Mirador Lake, and this academic year carries some extra weight. The school opened its 2026-27 year marking 25 years in Dorado, under Head of School Sara Hernández, alongside a newer Wellness & Athletics Center, a new Dining Hall, and a strategic partnership with Georgia Tech. None of that requires you to have a child enrolled to notice its effects. Family Weekend, athletics events, and an admissions open house scheduled for October 16, 2026 all draw extra traffic and energy to the entrance area, which happens to be the same stretch where the farm, the lake, and the walking trails converge. If your routine runs through that entrance in October, expect more cars and more foot traffic than usual, and maybe more reasons to linger.
How to Actually Use What's Already Here
A few adjustments turn "I walk past it" into "I actually use it."
- Book La Pérgola a few days out rather than walking up. It runs by reservation, and treating it as a spontaneous stop is the fastest way to be disappointed at the door.
- Push your Café de la Pérgola visit later in the evening on weekdays, since the extended hours mean it's still a good option after a late workout, not just a morning coffee run.
- If you're on the health-center side of the community, make a point of walking the farm-and-lake entrance at least once this season. It's a different park than the one you see every day.
- Watch for TASIS's public-facing events during its anniversary year, particularly around October. Even without kids at the school, the added activity changes the rhythm of that end of the neighborhood for a weekend.
- If you haven't seen the newer sections, a walk or cart ride through Isla de las Flores or Isla Norte will show you how much of the community is still filling in around you.
The Park Is Still Catching Up
The honest version of Sabanera Dorado right now is that it's a community still under construction, in the least alarming sense of that phrase. Homes are still delivering, amenities are still arriving to match them, and the park at the center of it all reflects that motion more than most residents give it credit for. Checking back on El Gran Parque every few months isn't excessive. It's just accurate, because the version you toured when you bought your home is probably not the version sitting outside your door right now.
